Susan Bradley, CFP®, CeFT® 

Founder of the Sudden Money® Institute & Financial Transitionist Institute 

Susan is the founder of the Sudden Money® Institute (www.suddenmoney.com), which began 18 years ago as a community of practice seeking to better serve their financial planning clients by developing processes and tools for the personal side of money and for clients going through transitions. This think tank created the Certified Financial Transitionist® (CeFT®) designation, and a division for training and certification called the Financial Transitionist® Institute. Susan has served on the FPA’s National Board of Directors, she currently sits on the National Football League’s Players Association’s Financial Education Advisory Board, and she serves as the Dean of Transitions for the Council of Deans of the Purposeful Planning Institute. She is seen and heard frequently in the national media, including NBC’s Nightly News, CNN, NPR, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times. She is the author of Sudden Money: Managing a Financial Windfall (Wiley 2000), and she is also the recipient of the Insiders Forum Iconoclast Award 2017.

Clare Stenstrom, CFP®, CeFT®

FTI Leader, Australia

Clare Stenstrom is a Certified Financial Transitionist® and a Certified Financial Planner™ and a Director, Educator and Coach at the Financial Transitionist® Institute of Australia.

Clare’s experience with working with the victims, families and those affected by the 9-11 tragedy gave her firsthand knowledge of people in transition. Her work was also an introduction to Sudden Money® Institute with whom she collaborated to train CFP®s to work with the victims, their families, survivors, and all those financially affected by the attack. This is also when Clare began her Financial Transitionist® training. Her passion to help others is the basis for training Australian CFP®s in the personal side of money. Cultivating emotional intelligence equal to their technical expertise and understanding the science of transitions.

Clare is the recipient of the Heart of Financial Planning Distinguished Service Award given by the Financial Planning Association and the first Heart of Financial Planning award given by the FPA New York Chapter. As a past President of the FPA NY, she formed the 9-11 Pro Bono effort for the Financial Planning Association that became the national Pro Bono outreach for the association that exists to this day. She co-created multiple financial literacy programs such as the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) which prepares student ambassadors to be financially confident for the rest of their lives and the MoneyWi$e program for domestic violence survivors.

Peter Budge, CFP®, Dip FP, B.Ed., Dip Teaching, CeFT®

FTI Leader, Australia

Peter Budge is a Director and Educator at Financial Transitionist® Institute Australia. Peter provides you with the tools to guide your clients through their Transition and provides the training on how to do this. Having under gone a number of life-changing events himself, it was these transitions that lead him to study with the Sudden Money® Institute in Florida USA, becoming the first Australian trained and Certified Financial Transitionist® and this set the path for working with others who face life-changing events.

Peter has also been involved in education and training, and has always had the desire to help others. With over 40 years’ experience, in the teaching and the financial Planning industries, Peter is dedicated to teaching you the processes and giving you the knowledge of a Financial Transitionist, so you too, can become a Certified Financial Transitionist® and better guide your transition clients through their financial future.

Outside the office, Peter enjoys reading and is an avid Beekeeper. 

 

Melissa Hansen

Director of Administrative Services

Melissa Hansen is the Director of Administration at Financial Transitionist® Institute Australia. Melissa is central to the effective management of our clientele and communication channels. She also coordinates daily operational functions, streamlines our management and financial operations, and improves business efficiency. Melissa has worked in the Administrative industry for over 20 years and is passionate about guiding our clients to achieve their own goals. Outside the office, Melissa is a mother of two children and is a keen photographer.

Peggy F. Frye, CFP®, CeFT®

Director of Training & Faculty

Peggy is the Principal of Glenayr Wealth Advisors LLC and an experienced wealth manager, Certified Financial Planner ®, Registered Life Planner®, and Certified Financial Transitionist®. She advises high-net-worth individuals and families using a unique planning and financial advisory approach and counsels clients to achieve life-altering goals using process-specific strategies. Peggy resides with her husband on Glenayr Farm in central Virginia where they raise champion Airedale terriers and Angus cattle.

Dr. Moira Somers, Psychologist, Professor

Dr. Moira Somers is a psychologist and professor based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.   She practices in the areas of financial and business coaching, positive psychology, and neuropsychology. Dr. Somers has a particular interest in the psychological factors that affect people’s financial decisions and actions. Her clients include high net worth individuals, business owners, and professional people, all of whom are in the midst of significant life transitions.  Dr. Somers is skilled in helping them address the factors that contribute to procrastination, erraticism, and anxiety around their personal and business finances. Her workshops for financial advisors focus on enhancing communication skills and client retention.  She is the author of Advice That Sticks (Practical Inspiration 2018).
